AppRiver is 8-time Inc. 5000 Honoree

Inc. magazine names AppRiver to its 33rd annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The list represents a comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent entrepreneurs.

2014 marks the eighth consecutive year AppRiver made the list—a rare feat awarded to only 28 other IT Service companies in the list’s 33-year history; and the only IT Service provider from Florida.

“There are more startups on this year’s list than global and franchise companies combined,” explains Michael Murdoch, CEO, AppRiver.  “That competitive edge is tough to beat, and we are honored to be included in their good company.”

Founded in 2002, AppRiver protects more than 47,000 businesses around the globe from today's most sophisticated IT threats.  The company's cloud-based security suite includes email hosting, email security, archiving, encryption, Web protection and the popular Microsoft Office 365 productivity suite.  All services come with a 30-day free trial and are backed by AppRiver's signature Phenomenal Care™.

Throughout the past decade, the company successfully carved a niche in North America's security sector - one of only a few vendors operating in the small and medium-sized business (SMB) space. With a presence now in 49 countries, AppRiver attributes its success in the global marketplace to the fact that they've never lost focus on security, with the aim of 'taking the IT out of the SMB'.

The Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2010 to 2013.  Qualifying companies are U.S.-based, privately held, for profit and are not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies.

This year’s list is the most competitive crop in the list’s history as unveiled online at Inc.com and in the September issue of Inc. (available on newsstands August 20 to November 30).  The average company on the list achieved a mind-boggling three-year growth of 516%. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue is $211 billion, generating 505,000 jobs over the past three years. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/inc5000.

“We are very proud of our 8-year history on the Inc. 5000,” adds Murdoch.  “Making the list year after year speaks volumes about the amazing team we have in place here at AppRiver, our talented partner community and loyal customer base.  It also sends a strong message to potential customers that we will continue to scale in response to the demonstrated demand for AppRiver services.”
