CRN Names AppRiver’s Natalie Newell to 2016 Women of the Channel

GULF BREEZE, FL, May 16, 2016 --- AppRiver, LLC, a leading provider of email messaging and Web security solutions, announced today that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Natalie Newell, channel sales advisor, to its prestigious 2016 Women of the Channel list.

The executives who comprise this annual list span the IT channel, representing vendors, distributors, solution providers and other organizations that figure prominently in the channel ecosystem. Each is recognized for her outstanding leadership, vision, and unique role in driving channel growth and innovation.

This year’s Women of the Channel were carefully reviewed and selected by the editors of CRN based on their accomplishments and the influence they wield over the technology channel.  “These executives have made a lasting mark on our industry—growing and elevating partner programs, leading transitions to new business models and introducing cutting-edge go-to-market strategies, among other remarkable achievements.” said Robert Faletra, CEO, The Channel Company. “We congratulate all the 2016 Women of the Channel and celebrate their singular contributions to the advancement of the channel ecosystem.”

Newell, who joined AppRiver three years ago, has been a driving force behind AppRiver’s channel growth.  Last year, the company’s channel business experienced 36-percent revenue growth.  This can be partially attributed to the 17-percent increase in active partners and a 21-percent increase in partner customers.  AppRiver's Office 365 business also saw record numbers--in addition to doubling its net new seats volume to nearly 175,000 for Microsoft Office 365, channel Office 365 revenue grew 150 percent in 2015.

Newell attributes that growth in part to AppRiver’s expansion of IT security offerings, as well as its renewed commitment to partner training and relationship management.  “We value our partners and want to make sure they capitalize on high-growth opportunities by aligning themselves with leading technology solutions and IT training.”

AppRiver recently added two new security features to its product portfolio.  The SecureSurf™ Critical Threat Notification feature alerts users via email and/or SMS when it identifies malware attempting to compromise a customer’s network.  Additionally, a secure e-signature feature was added to the company’s CipherPost Pro™ email encryption platform at no additional charge.  Both solutions can be bundled with other AppRiver offerings, including Office 365 and Hosted Exchange.

Looking ahead, Newell will help roll out a number of new partner perks in 2016 that will help partners sell more efficiently.  These diversified programs are designed to fit the unique needs of partners and customers and include:

Partner Certification – Partners can learn the ropes at AppRiver University and earn certifications in both the sale and support of Office 365, Disaster Preparedness and more. AppRiver partners can receive discounted pricing on certifications offered through CompTIA.Lunch & Learn – One-hour training sessions that are designed to increase a partner’s competitive advantage and will cover anything from sales and support to migration issues for a wide variety of products. Together with CompTIA, AppRiver will also begin offering business agility training.Webinars – Short, to-the-point training webcasts about AppRiver products, management interfaces, and other diverse topics that include CompTIA’s Business Management, Agility to Cloud Computing and Mobile Device Management courses.Targeted Campaigns and Incentives – AppRiver offers partners various SPIFF rewards, including cash rewards and extended free trials.

Additionally, AppRiver will continue to offer its award-winning Phenomenal Care™ allowing partners to focus more on creating healthy profit margins.

“We are proud to see Natalie recognized for the significant contributions she has delivered to our partner community,” said Jeff Malone, vice president of sales, AppRiver.  “Natalie’s commitment to finding the best solutions and resources for our partners is integral to our channel’s success.”

The 2016 Women of the Channel list will be featured in the June issue of CRN Magazine and online at www.CRN.com/wotc2016.
