Inc. Magazine Places AppRiver Among the Fastest Growing Private Companies in America
Inc. magazine today honored AppRiver, LLC, a leading provider of e-mail and Web security solutions, for being among the fastest growing private companies in North America. According to the publication's fourth annual Inc. 5000 listing, AppRiver is the 30th fastest growing security company in the nation and is ranked as No. 1118 overall.
Inc.'s list recognizes the significant accomplishments of the 5,000 fastest growing privately-owned businesses in the country, based on percentage growth in company net sales over a three-year period. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based and privately held, independent (not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies) and have had at least $80,000 in revenue in 2006 and $2 million in 2009.
"The leaders of the companies on this year's Inc. 5000 have figured out how to grow their businesses during the longest recession since the Great Depression," said Inc. president Bob LaPointe. "The 2010 Inc. 5000 showcases a particularly hardy group of entrepreneurs."
AppRiver secures its spot on the Inc. 5000 list for the fourth consecutive year by safeguarding customers from e-mail and Web-borne threats with an integrated suite of Software-as-a-Service offerings. The company's cost-effective, easy-to-use and scalable IT security solutions have proven to be must-haves for businesses today, despite the unpredictable economy. AppRiver works on a subscription model, giving businesses access to enterprise-grade applications in datacenters for a fixed cost per month, which is usually much less than traditional in-house IT costs. Companies also enjoy adding services on-demand on a pay-as-you-go basis.
"To be recognized as one of the nation's top entrepreneurial companies during a time of economic downturn is quite an honor," said Michael Murdoch, president and CEO of AppRiver. "It is a true testament to our company's focus and the strong relationships we maintain with our customer base. We are truly honored."
AppRiver joins other prominent brands across industries that are featured on the list, including music website Pandora, convenience store chain 7-Eleven, Brooklyn Brewery and Radio Flyer, maker of the iconic children's red wagon.
