AppRiver announced today it has acquired New York-based Total Defense, an all-in-one provider of subscription-based endpoint software.

The acquisition – the second of 2018 for AppRiver – allows the cloud-enabled security and productivity services provider to expand its portfolio and further establish itself as the go-to IT security provider for SMBs worldwide.

In March 2018, AppRiver acquired the Canadian email security company, Roaring Penguin, extending its global footprint and strengthening its technological advantages over competitors in the email security space.

The integration of AppRiver’s threat intelligence and analysis foundation into an endpoint security solution provides another powerful layer of cyber-defense for small- and mid-sized businesses.

Total Defense offers lightweight internet security endpoint protection for both consumers and businesses. The acquisition will not impact the consumer side of the business.
