Today's Sextortion Message - Caught Cheating
AppRiver's email filtering is catching a new variant of the ongoing sextortion campaigns today. It threatens "nasty" photos will be sent to "loved" ones unless the actors are paid $1,000 USD in Bitcoin. We're still evaluating the data but most of these are originating from a Turkish IP address of 5.47.77.223
Our team has worked tirelessly thru the night to crunch the similarities between these ongoing sextortion campaigns and yesterday's bomb hoaxes. We'll post more on that today, check back for the latest updates as additional data on these campaigns are analyzed.
